Vermont State Police are asking the public for help finding a white van that fled the scene of a crash in Newbury on the evening of June 19.
Troopers responded around 7:10 p.m. to US Route 302 between Wallace Hill Road and the Wells River Rail Trail. A white van with unknown plates side-swiped a white Chevrolet City Express traveling toward Wells River, police said.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Linwood St Laurent, 55, of Lisbon, New Hampshire, was evaluated by emergency medical crews and taken to a hospital for further testing with what appeared to be minor injuries. A passenger, Melissa St Laurent, 44, also of Lisbon, was in the vehicle but was not reported injured.
The van should have damage on the driver's side consistent with the collision. Anyone with security footage of the area or information about the vehicle is asked to call the St. Johnsbury Barracks at (802) 748-3111. Anonymous tips can be submitted online at https://vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.
No charges have been filed yet. The investigation is ongoing.
