State police seek help locating missing Newbury teen

The Vermont State Police are asking the public for help finding an 18-year-old Newbury resident who has been missing for more than a day.

Alek Deng was last seen at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, at a home on Rocky Lane in Newbury. The missing person report was filed with state police at about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.

Deng is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. They were last seen wearing black Uggs, blue jeans, and a gray crop-top sweatshirt.

Police said they are concerned for Deng's well-being and ask anyone with information to call the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
