Newbury Village residents will head to the polls May 27 to decide on a $2.5 million bond to replace aging water lines. Village Trustee Chair Robin Barone said the project is needed now, though she did not detail the specific condition of the current infrastructure or what drove the cost estimate.
“Now is the time to move ahead,” Barone said in a statement. The bond would fund replacement of water mains and related equipment across the village.
The project represents a significant expense for a small village. Voters will decide whether to authorize borrowing the full amount.
