Vermont State Police cited a St. Johnsbury man with DUI following a report of erratic driving late July 24.

Troopers responded to a parking lot at 857 Memorial Drive around 10:57 p.m. after a caller reported a vehicle driving erratically through the area. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver identified himself as Shawn Rich, 48, of St. Johnsbury.

Officers said they detected indicators of impairment while speaking with Rich. He was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence, transported to the St. Johnsbury barracks for processing, and released on a citation.

Rich is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on September 14 at 8:30 a.m.
