St. Johnsbury man arrested on DUI-drugs charge

Vermont State Police arrested a Marshfield man on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop on July 19 in St. Johnsbury.

Trooper Andrew Barton stopped a vehicle on Memorial Drive around 5:27 p.m. after observing a motor vehicle violation. During the stop, troopers detected signs of impairment, police said.

David Williams, 45, was taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing. He was later issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court, Criminal Division on September 14 at 8:30 a.m., and was released.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
