An inmate at the Northeast Regional Correction Facility in St. Johnsbury has been cited on an aggravated disorderly conduct charge after allegedly throwing an unknown liquid at a correctional officer.

David Goodwin, 22, who is listed as homeless, was already held at the facility for an unrelated incident when the incident occurred on June 18, according to Vermont State Police.

Correctional Officer Gabriel Poll, 24, responded to Goodwin and was struck in the face and chest with the liquid, police said. Goodwin was cited into Caledonia County Court on June 23.
