A 15-year-old Orleans resident was cited on charges of eluding a police officer and negligent operation after allegedly fleeing from a deputy on an electric dirt bike.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Department said the incident occurred on June 15 when a deputy attempted to stop the e-bike. The teen did not stop and continued to ride, according to police. No further details were released.

The teenager was issued a citation and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date. Charges are allegations; the teen is presumed innocent.
