Derby man reports stolen vehicle recovered hours later

A Derby man reported his vehicle stolen from a residence on Nelson Hill Road early Thursday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

Michael Abel, 42, of Derby reported at about 8:17 a.m. that his silver 2014 Toyota Prius had been taken without his consent. Police determined the vehicle was taken sometime after 7 p.m. on June 17. The Prius was located at approximately 8:54 a.m. on June 18.

The incident is listed as operation without owner's consent. No suspect has been identified, and the case remains under investigation.
