The Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging has hired Linda Caamaño as its new Options Counselor, the organization announced.
Caamaño will handle office and field work, manage calls from the information and referral helpline, and provide person-centered counseling to clients in Orleans, Essex, and Caledonia counties.
“We are excited to welcome Linda back to her hometown of St. Johnsbury,” said Meg Burmeister, Executive Director. “As a former volunteer manager for hospice, she is well accustomed to finding solutions for those in need.”
Caamaño previously served as Volunteer Manager for Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence County in New York, where she recruited and trained volunteers for nursing home and home care programs. She also spent five years as a Health Educator developing chronic disease self-management programs. Her background includes event planning, marketing, and office management, as well as running her own dog training business, Take the Lead Obedience and Behavior Training.
“I enjoy teaching, interacting with people, and working to help others,” Caamaño said. “Outside of work, my passions are dogs, horseback riding, outdoor activities, and family. My home has always been Vermont and I am happy to be back in the Northeast Kingdom.”
