Vermont State Police arrested a Coventry woman on charges of driving under the influence and cruelty to a child after a crash in Barton on the evening of May 30.

Troopers responded to the intersection of Main Street and Washington Lane around 8:52 p.m. and found a vehicle with severe damage in the roadway. The operator, Kendra Crowe, 23, showed signs of impairment, according to police. Two children, ages 1 and 3, were passengers in the vehicle.

Crowe was taken to the Derby barracks for processing and later released on a citation. She is scheduled to appear in Orleans Superior Court on June 16 to face charges of DUI (first offense), negligent operation, and two counts of cruelty to a child.
