A Lyndonville man is facing multiple charges after an hours-long standoff with Vermont State Police in Barton, according to police.
Troopers said 26-year-old Wyatt Gilman returned to a home on Cook Road in Barton on July 19, just hours after being served with a temporary abuse prevention order that removed him from the property. Police said Gilman refused to come out, allegedly threatened to kill officers, and was believed to have a firearm inside.
Specialized state police units responded to the scene. After obtaining a search warrant to deploy a drone inside the home, Gilman fled on foot. He was taken into custody following a short chase.
Gilman is being held on $5,000 bail. He faces charges including violation of an abuse prevention order, unlawful trespass, resisting arrest, and violating conditions of release. He is scheduled to appear in court at 2:30 p.m. on July 20.
