BARTON, A Lyndonville man was arrested early Monday after barricading himself inside a Cook Road residence for several hours, according to Vermont State Police.
Wyatt Gilman, 26, had been served a temporary abuse prevention order and removed from the property Sunday. He returned about 11 p.m. Sunday, leading authorities to respond. Gilman allegedly fled from officers and then barricaded himself inside the home, police said.
State police said Gilman made threats toward law enforcement and was believed to have access to a firearm. The Crisis Negotiation Unit and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program responded. A drone was deployed around 2:15 a.m. Monday. Gilman attempted to flee again but was taken into custody.
Gilman was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility on no bail and was scheduled to appear in court Monday on charges including violating an abuse prevention order and unlawful trespass/occupied dwelling.
