A Wolcott man has been sentenced to three to five years in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges including first-degree aggravated domestic assault, obstruction of justice, and second-degree unlawful restraint.

Adam Warner, 36, appeared before Judge Rory Thibault in Newport. Police said the charges stem from an incident on November 29, 2025, in which a woman reported being held at knifepoint. According to an affidavit by Newport City Police Patrolman Colin Sykes, the woman sent a photo of herself covered in bruises to a relative and texted 911, saying Warner threatened to stab her if police arrived.

Prosecutors dismissed other charges, including first-degree domestic assault with a weapon, second-degree aggravated domestic assault with a prior conviction, and a misdemeanor domestic assault count.
