A Newport woman accused of killing her ex-boyfriend is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing this week in Orleans County court. Ariana Rodger faces a murder charge in the death of 79-year-old Alton Wheeler.
Rodger pleaded not guilty in March to stabbing Wheeler in the neck inside his Brownington home, according to investigators. Court records show she was also charged in 2023 with assaulting Wheeler while they were dating.
Friday's appearance is a pre-trial hearing.
NEK will be looking into the details of Rodger's 2023 assault charge and any prior court proceedings related to the case.
