BARNET, VT, Two people were arrested on drug charges after police executed a search warrant at a residence on Wild Leek Road on July 10.

Ashley Williams, 31, of St. Johnsbury, was found outside the residence and was in possession of a trafficking weight of a substance that tested positive for fentanyl, according to police.

Osvaldo Andino Rodriguez, 43, of Meriden, Connecticut, was found inside the residence. Police reported seizing approximately 115 grams of a substance that field tested positive for cocaine base and over $47,000 in cash.

Williams faces charges of trafficking fentanyl, possession of a depressant, stimulant, or narcotic drug over 1,000 times the dosage, and violation of conditions of release. Rodriguez is charged with possession and sale of cocaine over one ounce.

Both were held at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility, Williams on $5,000 cash or surety, and Rodriguez on $75,000 cash or surety.

The Lyndonville Police Department was assisted by the Essex and Caledonia County Sheriff’s Department, CALEX EMS, and the Vermont State Police Narcotics Investigation Unit.

NEK will be looking into the origins of the seized drugs and any potential links to out-of-state trafficking networks.
