Vermont State Police cited a Sutton woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after finding her vehicle in the median of Interstate 91 near mile marker 110 in Ryegate on July 1.
According to a state police press release, troopers were notified of an impaired motorist on I-91 in the St. Johnsbury coverage area around 8:40 a.m. The vehicle was located in the median. The operator, identified as Leah Cochrane, 19, of Sutton, was taken into custody for processing and later released with a citation to appear in Caledonia County criminal court on October 19 at 8:30 a.m.
An investigation determined that Cochrane had been operating the vehicle under the influence of narcotics, police said. Court dates and times are subject to change; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
