The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning June 18 at 3:40 p.m. for southeastern Grafton County and parts of central and northern New Hampshire until 4:45 p.m.
The storms were located along a line from near Woodstock to near Danbury to near Marlow, moving east at 40 mph. Forecasters said the storms could produce 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-sized hail, enough to damage roofs, siding and trees.
Affected areas include Concord, Laconia, Conway, Franklin, Henniker, Lincoln, Moultonborough, Plymouth, Ossipee, Meredith, New London, Hopkinton, Loudon, Alton, Barnstead, Epsom, Gilmanton, Canterbury, Holderness and Ashland. Highways Interstate 89 (mile markers 0-31) and Interstate 93 (mile markers 33-96) are in the path.
The alert warned of possible tornadoes and flash flooding. Drivers were urged not to drive through flooded roads.
