The National Weather Service in Gray issued a Flash Flood Warning at 12:33 a.m. on June 11 for east central Carroll and east central Grafton counties in northern New Hampshire. The warning expires at 3:45 a.m.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area, with 1 to 3 inches already fallen and additional rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour expected. Flash flooding of small creeks, streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other low-lying areas is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Locations that may experience flash flooding include Conway, Lincoln, Ossipee, Effingham, Tamworth, Sandwich, Woodstock, Bartlett, Madison, and Freedom.

Police advise turning around rather than driving through flooded roads, noting that most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Extra caution is urged at night when flood dangers are harder to recognize.
