The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Grafton County on June 18 at 3:23 PM EDT, effective until 3:45 PM EDT.

At 3:23 PM, radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms extending from near Grafton to near Charlestown, moving east at 40 mph. Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-size hail, which could cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Affected locations include Claremont, Franklin, Henniker, New London, Plymouth, Grafton, Charlestown, Enfield, Canaan, Holderness, Ashland, Bradford, Danbury, Groton, Newport, Warner, Marlow, Alstead, Hillsborough, and Bristol. The warning also covers Mount Kearsarge and Mount Sunapee. Interstates 89 between mile markers 16 and 51 and 93 between mile markers 75 and 80 are in the path.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 7:00 PM EDT. Residents are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall may cause flash flooding; drivers should not go through flooded roadways.
