After a sunny and warm Wednesday, rain is expected to return to the Northeast Kingdom on Thursday and continue into Friday, according to a forecast from MyChamplainValley.
Wednesday morning brought patchy dense fog to valley communities, particularly along the Connecticut River Valley. Conditions cleared through the day, with highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. A spot shower was possible in the Northeast Kingdom and southern Quebec, though most areas stayed dry.
Thursday will start with increasing clouds, with highs again in the low 80s. Humidity will build through the afternoon as scattered showers and isolated downpours become likely, continuing overnight into Friday morning.
Friday will see a storm system moving through the North Country and Upper Valley, bringing isolated showers, downpours, and occasional sunshine. West-northwest winds will be breezy. Rainfall totals through late Friday are expected to average a quarter to half an inch, with localized amounts up to three-quarters of an inch. No flooding concerns are anticipated.
Temperatures will cool into the low 60s by Friday night, with drying conditions expected heading into Saturday.
