US Route 2 in St. Johnsbury, locally known as Portland Street, was reduced to one eastbound lane on the evening of June 10 after power lines fell into the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
Green Mountain Power and the St. Johnsbury Fire Department responded to the scene. There was no initial estimate on how long the closure would last, but the roadway was fully reopened by the morning of June 11, police said.
Motorists had been advised to expect delays or seek alternate routes while crews worked.
