Volunteers supporting the Dailey Memorial Library hosted a pickleball tournament fundraiser at Derby Community Park a little over a week ago. The first of what organizers plan to make an annual event drew 38 teams of competitors.
Organizer Dave Augustioni said the tournament was well received. "It was pretty well received," Augustioni said. "For a first endeavor it was a total success."
Participants Ray and Mary Perkins were photographed enjoying their match. The event was held to raise funds for the library.
