Despite being limited to just three events this year due to the pandemic, Kingdom Games raised $8,678 for two local charities, the organization announced November 24.

The funds were split between Umbrella, which advocates for survivors of domestic and interpersonal violence, and The Halo Foundation, which supports cancer patients and their families.

At the Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival, swimmers and volunteers wrote names of cancer victims or survivors on biodegradable ribbons and swam through them. The event raised $456 for Halo.

Unable to hold the annual Dandelion Run in May, the group went virtual, inviting participants to run, walk, bike, swim, kayak, or row over eight days and donate $1 per mile to Umbrella. More than 150 people sent reports and pictures, raising about $7,250.

The year concluded with the Fly to Pie event, where 80 runners, walkers, and cyclists started in staggered waves. Twenty percent of registration fees raised $972 for Halo.
