An Ohio man vacationing in the Northeast Kingdom is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two men who threw an object through his windshield on Memorial Day, leaving him with cuts to his face and neck.
Around 9:45 a.m. on May 30, the victim was driving north on Route 100 near Lowell when a red-orange pickup truck with two men signaled him to pull over, saying something flew off his RV. Suspicious, the victim drove onto Route 58, but the truck followed and blocked his path. While on the phone with 911, the truck fled, then returned and the passenger hurled an object, believed to be a concrete cement plug, through the windshield.
Glass sprayed the victim, causing four superficial wounds. He was treated at the scene by emergency responders. Vermont State Police issued a be-on-the-lookout but did not locate the truck.
Police describe one suspect as heavyset with a beard, wearing a woodland camouflage shirt; the other as having long hair in a ponytail. Their truck had a tan and white Irish setter inside. The vehicle reportedly had a crack in the windshield and blue and red handicap tags hanging from the rearview mirror.
Anyone with information can contact VSP Derby Barracks at 802-334-8881, or reach the victim directly at the email address he set up for the reward.
