EAST CHARLESTON, The NorthWoods Stewardship Center is accepting applications for six seasonal positions on its Conservation Corps and Forest Stewardship Institute crews for the late summer and fall.

The Sustainable Forestry Internship will hire three people for a six-week program at 40 hours per week. Interns will work with Forest Stewardship staff on forestry, conservation, habitat management, and landowner outreach. Applicants should have basic knowledge of ecology or forestry, ability to identify local tree species, and chainsaw training.

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Stone Crew will hire three people for a 10-week season at 40 hours per week. The crew will build and maintain stone steps, improve trails, and enhance access on state Fish & Wildlife lands. Applicants should have basic knowledge of trail work, stonework, landscaping, or masonry.

Both positions involve outdoor work. NorthWoods says it is following COVID-19 safety guidelines. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. More information and application materials are available at www.northwoodcenter.org.
