Thursday night’s Independence Day Spectacular at Thunder Road in Barre saw area drivers take top honors. Brendan Moodie of Wolcott won the 50-lap Flying Tigers feature with a last-lap, last-corner pass on Derrick Calkins. It was Moodie’s 23rd career win at the track.
In Street Stocks, Walker Fitch of Marshfield earned his first career victory in the 30-lap feature, holding off Hayden Bushey and Zachary Garvey. The race was slowed by a hard crash involving Fred Fleury and Derek Farnham, who hit the front-stretch wall.
Late Model points leader Scott Dragon won the second feature of the night, while earlier in the evening defending champion Jason Corliss tied Governor Phil Scott for the all-time Late Model win record with his 31st victory. Stephen Martin of Craftsbury Common and Marcel Gravel of Wolcott also competed.
The Road Warriors feature was won by Mike Slingerland. Results are unofficial.
