A Campton, New Hampshire, man was arrested after a crash in East Burke over the weekend, accused of driving drunk with an 8-year-old child in the vehicle.
Jay Harrington, 41, faces charges of second-offense driving under the influence and cruelty to a child, according to Trooper Riley Fenoff of the Vermont State Police.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in Kirby. State police did not release additional details about the crash or the child's condition.
Harrington was cited and released with conditions, pending a court appearance.
NEK will be looking into Harrington's prior DUI record and the status of any child protective proceedings.
