LYNDON CENTER, The Lyndon Institute baseball team earned a decisive home victory over Spaulding last Friday, advancing to the Division II state semifinals.

Senior Logan Wheeler and Griffin Lawson combined for six hits and four runs batted in as the second-seeded Vikings defeated the seventh-seeded Crimson Tide 14, 5. Pitcher Jackson Dwyer threw a complete game, striking out four and walking none. Danville senior Sebastian Eldred has also been a regular contributor to the Lyndon lineup this season.

Lyndon, carrying a 12, 2 record, will host No. 3 Otter Valley on Wednesday. A win would send the Vikings to the Division II state championship game, scheduled for Friday at Centennial Field, where they would face either top-seeded Mount Abraham or fifth-seeded U-32.
