Despite the pandemic limiting it to three events, Kingdom Games raised $8,678 for two local charities in 2020.
The beneficiaries were Umbrella, which serves survivors of domestic and interpersonal violence, and Halo Foundation, which supports cancer patients and their families.
At the Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival, participants wrote the names of cancer victims or survivors on biodegradable ribbons and swam through them. That event raised $456 for Halo.
The annual Dandelion Run, normally held in May, went virtual. Participants ran, walked, biked, swam, kayaked, or rowed over eight days and donated $1 per mile to Umbrella. More than 150 people sent in reports and photos, raising about $7,250.
Kingdom Games ended the year with Fly to Pie, a run/walk/bike event with staggered starts. Eighty participants raised $972 for Halo through 20 percent of registration fees.
