Rex Hauser, who helped St. Johnsbury Academy win its first Vermont Division I baseball championship since 2016 last June, has joined the Vermont Mountaineers for the summer collegiate baseball season. The Montpelier-based Mountaineers compete in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).
Hauser grew up attending Mountaineers games and watched his father play men's league on the same field. The former Hilltopper star was a senior captain during the 2025 title run, which saw third-seeded St. Johnsbury top No. 1 Mount Anthony 9-7 at Centennial Field in Burlington.
NEK will be looking into Hauser's progress with the Mountaineers and how other local players are faring in collegiate summer leagues.
