A road crew flagger was struck by a pickup truck on Route 105 in Jay on Wednesday afternoon, July 15, Vermont State Police reported.

Renee Orzolek, 49, of Craftsbury was directing traffic for road maintenance near Leavitt Circle around 3:55 p.m. when she was hit by a 2025 GMC Canyon driven by Colby Currier, 88, of Troy, according to police.

Orzolek was treated at the scene by Newport Ambulance and taken to North Country Hospital. Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. Currier was not injured.
