The Vermont State Police arrested a Westfield man on June 23 after he allegedly threatened a household member with serious bodily injury the night before in Jay.
According to police, Trooper Jacob Shores responded to a report of a family disturbance on VT Route 242 around 10:46 p.m. on June 22. Investigation determined that Jordan Hemingway, 31, placed a household member in fear of serious injury, a charge of second-degree aggravated domestic assault.
Hemingway fled before police arrived, and initial efforts to locate him were unsuccessful. He was found the morning of June 23 and taken into custody without incident. He was processed at the Derby barracks and lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility, held without bail.
Hemingway is scheduled to appear in Orleans County criminal court on June 24 at 1 p.m. The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
