A Derby man faces felony charges after an alleged domestic assault on June 17. Vermont State Police responded to a report of a domestic incident around 10:04 a.m. in the town of Derby.
An investigation found that Shawn Turnbaugh, 39, unlawfully restrained a household member and caused serious bodily injury, police said. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault and unlawful restraint.
Turnbaugh was processed at the Derby barracks and then lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Orleans Superior Court on June 18 at 12:30 p.m. to answer the charges.
The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of domestic violence.
