The East Branch Passumpsic River near East Haven crossed the action-flood threshold on Monday, according to a U.S. Geological Survey gauge alert. The gauge at site 01133000 recorded a stage of 6.23 feet, moving from normal into the action stage.

The action stage indicates that river levels are high enough to be a potential concern, but it does not constitute an official flood warning. The National Weather Service will issue a formal flood advisory if the river continues to rise and threatens to cause flooding.

The East Branch Passumpsic River is a tributary of the Passumpsic River, flowing through eastern Essex County. River gauges are monitored by USGS and relayed to the NWS and local emergency management agencies.
