On the evening of July 4, Vermont State Police responded to a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway at 3273 US Route 5 in Sutton. The caller reported a male who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. Troopers arrived and identified the operator as Jacob King, 48, of Newark. During the encounter, troopers noted indicators of impairment and placed King under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was transported to the St. Johnsbury barracks for processing and was later released on a citation. King is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on July 20 at 8:30 AM.
