Vermont State Police arrested a Newark man on DUI charges after responding to a report of an intoxicated individual at a residence on Bugbee Crossing Road in Burke on July 5.

Trooper Riley Fenoff said Thomas Gilman, 58, had been the subject of multiple calls for service earlier that evening as a potentially impaired driver but was not located at that time. When troopers arrived at the residence around 9:12 p.m., they found Gilman and the vehicle he had reportedly been driving.

While speaking with Gilman, troopers detected indicators of impairment and arrested him on suspicion of DUI. He was transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing and issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court, Criminal Division on July 27 at 8:30 a.m.
