Craftsbury Academy and Danville middle school track teams wrapped up their seasons with multiple top-ten performances at the Nathan Suter Middle School Track and Field Championships in Burlington earlier this month.
Craftsbury eighth-grader Hollis Allen recorded fourth-place finishes in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs, both personal best times. Hinesburg's Royal Ricklefs swept both events.
Danville eighth-grader Willa Mantius placed fifth in the 1,500 meters with a season-best time. Teammate Althaea Irwin, also an eighth-grader, finished fifth in the long jump. Craftsbury's Poppy Glestos placed sixth in the javelin.
Mantius added a seventh-place finish in the 800 meters and a personal best in the 400 meters. Craftsbury eighth-grader Eleanor Hammond achieved a top-ten finish and personal record in the 800 meters. Danville's Taryn Barrett and Hailey Duprey also posted personal bests.
