Nearly a week after a crash on Route 14 in Woodbury killed two young sisters and seriously injured their father, communities across the Northeast Kingdom continue to show support for the Ross family.

Jonathan Ross was driving with his daughters, 8-year-old Oliviah and 2-year-old Rylin, when the crash occurred. Both girls died; Jonathan was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Green ribbons have appeared in Danville, St. Johnsbury, Lyndon, and other towns. Jamie Locke, an EMT with Calex Ambulance Service, and her husband Casey placed large green ribbons on their ambulances. Their granddaughter was close friends with Oliviah. “She walked through the front door and right into my arms, and I just held her while she cried,” Jamie Locke said. “The whole town was lit up green.”

On Tuesday, June 23, The Pizza Man in Lyndon, Oliviah’s favorite restaurant, will donate 10 percent of its sales to the family. Owner Shane Switser said other businesses have reached out to contribute. “We’re just such a small community here, and a close community,” he said.

Kingdom Leather has distributed leather hearts to businesses across the region; donors choose the amount, with 100 percent going to the Ross family. An online fundraiser on SupportNow.org had raised more than $48,000 as of Friday evening.
