A Charleston woman was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly threatening several people with a firearm at a residence on Vermont Route 105, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers responded around 4:10 a.m. to a report of an individual threatening others with a gun. By the time they arrived, the suspect, 21-year-old Mariah Colby, had already been disarmed by someone at the scene. Police say Colby was intoxicated at the time. No injuries were reported.

Colby was taken into custody and later held without bail at the Northern State Correctional Facility by order of the Orleans Criminal Court. She is scheduled to answer charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and reckless endangerment on June 8, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.
