A Barton woman who worked as a vault supervisor at Jay Peak Resort was arrested July 22 on suspicion of embezzling more than $70,000 from a secure vault room, Vermont State Police said.

Investigators began looking into the matter on April 21. Over the following months, they determined that the supervisor, 41-year-old Lisa Gaylor, had taken cash in multiple smaller amounts between fall 2025 and early spring 2026, state police said. The thefts ranged from $2,000 to $6,000 per incident, with total losses calculated at approximately $70,790.

Gaylor was taken into custody on July 22 and released with a citation to appear in court in August on an embezzlement charge.
