The Barton Selectboard has expressed frustration that it is not being included in the review process for a planned propane storage addition at the railyard on May Farm Road.
The addition would include three propane storage tanks, which would be used for regional fuel distribution by truck. Selectman Ted Gattino recently attended a meeting at the railyard but said the board has not been formally consulted.
At their Wednesday meeting, selectboard members voiced concern that the town has no role in the approval process for the project, which they say could affect the local community.
NEK will be looking into whether any state or federal agencies are overseeing the propane facility review.
