81-year-old woman killed in two-vehicle crash on Route 130

An 81-year-old woman died Friday, May 29, after a two-vehicle crash on Route 130 in Robbinsville Township.

Emergency dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at around 2:36 p.m. reporting a crash on Route 130 north of Woodside Road. First responders arrived to find a Ford F-250 utility body truck and a Kia wagon involved in a serious collision.

Crews from Robbinsville Fire & EMS and Hamilton Fire and Rescue worked to extricate the victim from the Kia. She was treated at the scene by paramedics and then transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton Township. Despite efforts by emergency personnel and hospital staff, she died of her injuries.

The woman was a resident of Hamilton Township. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Route 130 were closed for several hours while the Robbinsville Township Police Traffic Safety Unit and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision Response Team investigated. The crash remains under investigation.
