Jeb Spaulding, chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges System, said he plans to resign after more than five years in the role. He will formally submit his resignation to the Board of Trustees at a meeting Wednesday evening.

“It is with a heavy heart, but firm resolve that I submit my resignation as Chancellor of this incredible organization that I have been so privileged to lead,” Spaulding said.

The board will discuss next steps during the meeting, including a short-term appointment of general counsel Sophie Zdatny as interim chancellor until a longer-term replacement can be found.

The board will meet via Zoom at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The public can view the meeting at www.vsc.edu/live.
