Lebanon police arrested a Montpelier, Vermont woman on Saturday after she stopped her car in the middle of Mechanic Street, blocked traffic, and allegedly tried to take an officer's gun during her arrest.
Police said Sheila Healy, 39, had been shouting at other motorists that she was being targeted by a sniper and refused to move her vehicle. Officers learned that the Hartford Police Department had seen her speeding and running red lights with her hazard lights on shortly before she entered Lebanon.
When officers arrived, they saw Healy trying to refuel her car with a gas can. They ordered her to stay away from the vehicle. After she did not comply, police arrested her. During the arrest, Healy allegedly attempted to flee and tried to grab one of the officers' holstered handguns.
Healy faces charges including resisting arrest, reckless operation, simple assault on a law enforcement officer, and other offenses. She was ordered held at the Grafton County House of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
