The UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture will lead a workshop on livestock water systems later this month in Randolph. The session, set for June 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vermont State University's Morrill Hall, is aimed at helping farmers improve grazing infrastructure.

Attendees will learn about water system design and implementation, pressure tank requirements, water tub and float valve setups, and pump stations. The workshop also covers alternative water systems and financial assistance available to farmers. Afternoon demonstrations will be held outdoors.

The event is led by Amber Reed of UVM Extension and Ben Gabos and Phil Wilson of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets. It is co-sponsored by Gallagher and the Northeast Grass-Fed Beef Initiative.

Registration includes the program and lunch. Farmers can sign up online through the UVM Extension events portal.
