A 5K run and walk to benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation will be held Saturday, July 25 at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Barton.
The event is being organized by Art LaPlante, co-owner of E.M. Brown and Son’s in Barton. It is part of a national 5K series honoring first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Proceeds go to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports injured first responders and their families.
Registration is now open. LaPlante discussed the race, plans for event day, and the foundation’s background in an interview that will appear in the Thursday, June 11 edition of the Newport Daily Express.
