A traffic stop on Main Street in Orleans on June 4 led to three arrests, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers stopped a 2011 Toyota RAV4 around 3:21 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation. The driver was identified as Robert Elliot, 63, of Glover. A passenger, Lucrezia Lachapelle, 52, of Lyndon, had an active warrant for her arrest and was taken into custody and lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
During the stop, troopers observed indicators of narcotics. A subsequent investigation led to Elliot being charged with possession of cocaine, and another passenger, Allie Duda, 39, of Morristown, was charged with possession of regulated drugs without a prescription. Both were issued citations to appear in Orleans County Superior Court on July 28, 2026, and were released.
NEK will be looking into the circumstances of Lachapelle's arrest warrant.
