St. Johnsbury police chief resigns

St. Johnsbury Police Chief Joel Pierce is stepping down. Town Manager confirmed to WCAX that Pierce's resignation takes effect July 15.

Kevin Wilson has been appointed interim chief and will serve until a permanent replacement is hired. According to the Caledonian Record, Pierce had been on medical leave since January.

NEK will be looking into the town's search process for a permanent police chief and the circumstances surrounding Pierce's medical leave.
