At approximately 8:09 AM on Monday, emergency dispatchers received reports of a small aircraft that had crashed into Lake Seymour near Rosseter's Point in Morgan, Vermont. The caller at 196 Rosseter's Point stated the plane was in the water. Multiple agencies responded, including Morgan Rescue, Newport Police, and Newport Fire. At 8:14 AM, Newport 1 arrived on scene and reported that all occupants were out of the aircraft and sitting on top of it.
By 8:17 AM, responders confirmed that all occupants were out and sitting on top of the aircraft, which was located in the middle of the lake, closer to the far end. Fire and police units established a boat launch operation, with Newport Police and Newport Fire arriving at the boat launch to assist. At approximately 8:44 AM, Newport Ambulance units relocated to Jones Road to check on the pilot, who had been found walking in the area. EMS evaluated the pilot and determined no medical transport was needed. The pilot was handed over to law enforcement. By 8:53 AM, emergency medical services cleared from the scene.
