At approximately 7:53 AM, St. Johnsbury Police responded to a report of a possible gunshot wound in the area of Upper Cossab Avenue. A resident reported hearing a single gunshot and observing a person exit a black SUV and return to a residence. Officers are on the scene investigating.
At approximately 8:01 AM, dispatchers received additional reports from witnesses at Hall Park who stated they believed the sound was a backfire rather than a gunshot. Officers continue to investigate the incident.
